Christine Paolino is fucking hilarious and we love when she reviews shows for us cos it makes us lol. She went to see Panic! at the Disco. Check out her review:

When I heard that Panic At The Disco was making a new album, my first thought was, “Will they be able to repeat the success of their first album with their sophomore album?” Now I wouldn’t say that I’m a big fan of Panic, but I appreciate their music and I loved their first album. Before the album came out I was hearing mixed reviews, mostly how it was much different than the first album and how they sounded like The Beatles. Although I am only 22 years old, I love The Beatles, there are not many songs that I don’t like by them and I believe that anyone who actively tries to emulate them, will ultimately fail, horribly. So those comments about Panic had me worried. But I decided to wait until I heard the album myself, so I bought it and after a few listens, I really fell in love with “Pretty. Odd.” I knew that I had to see these songs performed live, even though I had doubts in the beginning.

When I got to the show, it was atleast an hour after the doors opened and there were hardly any fans waiting outside and Brendon Urie, (lead singer of Panic), walked out with a huge video camera filming, I guess, his adventures of walking around the venue? Well I got a little excited and decided to follow him, a few feet behind him, he realized what I was doing and turned the camera on me for like ten seconds. It was slightly embarrassing, but a funny experience.

As the lights went down I got pretty excited, the stage was set with what looked to be a huge welcome sign for a town called “Pretty. Odd.” and microphone stands with flowers and lights attached. The boys came on dressed in vests, button down shirts, and slacks, less exaggerated than the clothing on their last tour. The first song they played was, “We’re So Starving”, which is also the first song off their new album and a great choice, as it really fits well with a concert setting, (the lyrics are basically an apology to the fans, that the guys have been away from the public eye, because they were recording.) They played a good number of songs from the new album, including my favorite “Behind The Sea”, which the guitarist, Ryan Ross, sings lead on. Ross also seemed more comfortable singing, (even backup vocals), than in other times I’ve seen them live. But all the guys were more comfortable on stage, exhibiting upbeat attitudes and witty banter during song breaks. Panic also played the old favorites, but re-worked them, taking out the electronic beats and just playing them more stripped down, like the mature band they have come to be. The show was amazing and this band has really grown up. I had seen them three times live before this show and in my mind they sort of became known as a “hit and miss” band, sometimes sounding incredible and at other times, not so great. But this concert showed me that they really have talent and I am extremely proud to be grouped in the same age range as them.
